Current Men’s and Women’s Bible Study

Tuesdays – 6:30 PM

We are using a 14-chapter book by Dan Phillips called: “The World-Tilting Gospel: Embracing a Biblical Worldview & Hanging On Tight”. This study will continue through Tuesday, November 26.

The men and women of Grace Community Church and guests will be using this book to learn together how to articulate our Christian worldview to an unbelieving world.

Theologian David Wells expressed it this way: “Christianity is not just an experience, we need to remember, but it is about truth. The experience of being reconciled to the Father, through the Son, by the work of the Holy Spirit all happens within a worldview.  This worldview is the way God has taught us in His Word to view the world. That is why the Bible begins with Genesis 1:1 and not with John 3:16.”

Dan Phillips’ book will be augmented with weekly study guides (these will be on the foyer book table) to prepare us as students for each Tuesday discussion. Come each week prepared with answers to the questions that will facilitate our understanding of each chapter of assigned reading:

September 17:     Chapter 4 “The God Who Plans”

October 1:         Chapters 5 & 6  “God’s Rescue Operation Outlined” & “God’s Rescue Operation Executed”

October 8:        Chapter 7 “First Towering Truth-Declared Righteousness”

October 15:        Chapter 8 “Second Towering Truth-Born From Above”

October 22:       Chapter 9 “The Struggle of New Life”

November 5:       Chapters 10 & 11 “Gutless Gracers and Crisis Upgraders” & “The Quagmire of Muzzy Mysticism”

November 12:      Chapter 12 “What About The Flesh”?

November 26:      Chapters 13 & 14 “What About The Holy Spirit?” & “Culmination: Putting It All Together” & “Afterword”
